lebenslauf: After retiring from nearly 40 years of training and working as a Speech Language Pathologist, Darla moved into the field of Voice Over. She has training from Edge Studios (New York) and has been fortunate to train with two of the top talents in the field of voice overs: Vanessa Hart (for audio books and commercials) and Julie Williams (for documentary, legal and medical narration, and commercials).
Vanessa Hart helped to hone Darla’s acting, narrative and dialogue skills for delivery of fiction, documentaries, and commercials. She has said of Darla - \\\\\\\"best time I\\\\\\\'ve had in YEARS!!! Thank you for sharing your gift with me,\\\\\\\" and \\\\\\\"I would not have taken you on [as a student] if I wasn\\\\\\\'t a huge believer in your talent, your intelligence, your drive and commitment\\\\\\\"
Julie William’s coaching has helped Darla improve her ability to deliver narrative for documentaries, legal texts and medical texts. After coaching Darla, Julie had this to say about her work - \\\\\\\"Darla is great at what she does...and has a very unique sound that can\\\\\\\'t be duplicated!\\\\\\\"
Currently, Darla is one of several Voice Over artists who lend their voices to AIRS-LA: Audio Internet Reading Service of Los Angeles. Darla voices the CAT FANCY magazine podcasts for AIRS-LA.
